It all started when I walked out into my backyard to see my dog pulling my downspouts away from my house trying to get at a chipmunk who had been hiding out inside my downspout.
I went to the hardware store and rigged up some screens. There solution – problem solved. However a few months later I started having issues with gunk clogging the filters, which mean I had to go around with a drill and clean each filter out. What a pain.
So I designed these downspout guards to accomplish 3 things.
1. Help Prevent critters/rodents from getting into my downspouts
2. Easy Toolless Cleaning with a sliding/removable filter/screen
3. Defuse/Spray the water so the water isn’t so direct, helping prevent erosion with heavy rains.
The Body is made with an Outdoor suitable ASA Plastic material to withstand high temps & direct uv sunlight.
Grates are made of a heavy nylon with Carbon Fiber infused for an almost metal like strength to help detour rodents from chewing through.

I was getting tired of using downspout extensions that had to be removed on grass cutting days. These defused the water so there’s no erosion on existing grass. Not sure how they would work on a newly planted lawn. Also, customer service was outstanding.
