We use ASA for most all our products for it’s ability to handle extreme temps, UV, Sun & it’s strength. However some of our products which don’t require the extreme conditions are made with PETG. For any bolt hardware, we use stainless steel.

We do so much volume that trying to track colors/parts in stock just logistically didn’t make sense.
We strive to get parts out the door quick, and the best way to do that is to get good at one color and stock inventory.
Any of our parts can be painted, and we find customers get a better color match when they can paint the part themselves. Plus the paint gives even an extra layer of protection to the elements.

We are often asked how to connect a Midea, Whynter, Danby, Toshiba, etc. Single Duel Duo Hose into our Under Garage Door Narrow Vent as the single hose design is not a standard hvac connection.
Here is a List of everything you’ll need to make the connection happen.

(One for Inflow & One for Outflow) - Optional: 5.9″ to 5.9″ Connector – If you need to Extend Your 5.9″ Hose. You’ll also need a second 5.9″ Hose from Amazon. Best practice is to keep the hose as short as possible, but some setups require a bit longer run.
- Optional: AC Hose Insulated Cover Sleeve – Here on Amazon
(This is optional but highly recommended. The Output Tube can become very hot and radiants heat back into your conditioned space. This sleeve will help insulate the tube.) Really anything such as a towel, etc. will help keep the hose insulated.

Yes, you’ll need a single Under Garage Door Narrow Vent for each Hose (Inflow & Outflow) of your Portable AC unit. This allows your unit to run at it’s peal air flow, giving better cooling/heating results and preventing any pressure errors.
A bit more detail if interested….
It simply comes down to physics. As much as we would love to create a single vent design to work with two hoses, keeping cost down for you, as well as a smaller form factor. The fact remains that when a 5.9in hose is condensed down to a 1.5in narrow wedge, in order to make up for the air volume of 2 – 5.9in hoses, we would have to design a vent that’s almost 40inches wide.
The most practical way to accomplish this is to use 2 separate vents.

This Vent is designed to be used with a standard 2×4 board from your local lumber yard such as Lowes or Home Depot when used under a garage door. This helps prevent the weight of a heavy garage door from putting too much pressure on the vent.
We have also heard of customers using pool noodles & even Cardboard.

We get the question often.
My garage door has a drop down, and how do I fit the under garage door vent under it?
We’ll admit it’s not a perfect solution, however the best advice we can give is to either get some extra board, or foam strips from a hardware store to fill in the gap.
We’ve been asked if we can provide a dropped down version of our vent, however here’s how the math works. We’ve found most people only have about 1/4th of an inch between the concrete lip and the garage door.
In order to move the same volume of air from a 5.9″ diameter hose through a 1/4th (.25″) wedge, you would need a vent that’s about 109inch in width. Basically the entire width of the garage door.
Below is a finished solution from one of our customers who used some foam to fill in the gap.
We do sell a slide in Front Step Down Adapter which you can find below.
It only works for Garage Doors which have at least 2 Inches of space between the door and the concrete edge, and are no more than an inch tall.
This adapter will also slow down the air flow, with the additional bends. This may cause some issues with high output devices such as large Portable AC Units.

The design of the Standard wings (Smallest Form factor), is to allow the same airflow as a 4″ Hvac Hose. Because most Portable AC units use up to 5.9″ hoses, we recommend the Extended Wings to get the full air flow through the vent. This also helps your AC unit work not only better, but helps prevent error codes on some AC units.
Users do report having no problems using smaller AC units without the extended wings. If you wanted to try without, you can always purchase the extended wings below.
