I love my FreshRoast SR800, and enjoyed the machine even more when I added an Expansion Tube. Once I did this, I quickly found out that the stock chaff collection in the top wasn’t quite up to the job.
Also works with the SR540 & Older SR700 Models
For a while I did a DIY solution which involved fine mesh wire, however it was always a pain to get it just right, was sharp and more effort than it was worth.
I searched for many solutions finally coming up with my own.
There is no assembly or cutting required. Simple snap/press the parts in place and start roasting.
The middle bean/chaff separator helps prevent beens from entering the chaff reservoir. It’s not perfect, and some beans will get by, but it greatly helps with the expansion of the side walls.

The FreshRoast OEM Top or Probe are not included. It’s only in the photos/video as an example of fitment.
This is printed out of a very high temp engineering grade nylon to withstand the extreme heat generated while roasting.

Great addition to my SR 800. It not only allows me a sense of not overwhelming the stock chaff collector but supplies a spot to place an additional RTD.

I’ve used the LeafgreenSolutions chaff collector extension for the SR800 only twice since receiving it a short time ago, but I already know it was the right purchase decision. The extension is thoughtfully designed, solidly constructed, looks great, and fits the existing SR800 chaff collector really well. If, as I do, you want to roast 8 ounces of Ethiopia or other dry processed beans that have a large amount of chaff, this extension is not only nice to have, it is essential. It easily holds all the chaff created, with no more undesirable lifting of the collector lid with chaff escaping during the roast. I found no beans in the chaff after the roast, and very little chaff dropped from the collector when it was removed from the roasting chamber.
